Have Your Chocolate and Eat It, Too

Since Monday was Chocolate Day and this is National Diabetes Month, let’s continue the joy with our recipe today. Don’t get me wrong. This is not about seeing how much chocolate you can consume, today we will find luxurious chocolate that you can enjoy and savor once small bite at a time. The bonus, you will be satisfied with that tiny bit of pure bliss!

What! How can that be? Once I get started eating chocolate, I can’t stop. Oh will, my dear, you will. Why, because once your palates savor the joy this chocolate brings, you won’t want to ruin it with a nasty feeling of bloat and fullness.

When consumed and enjoyed in small doses, chocolate can be enjoyed almost daily. Yep, you heard that correctly. If you read my post Monday, you found out that my first word was chocolate. I’ve been in love with it since my very first word.

My mother and I visited Madrid this past February. One of the items on our list was to visit a famous churros and chocolate place there, Chocolateria San Gines. We found it and our waiter was simply amazing. As we watched others savor this deliciousness, we watched the lady next to us pick up her cup of delightful chocolate after eating her churros and drink! My mother and I looked at each other and gasped. We thought, seriously. Well, you know when in Madrid!!!! It was simply heavenly. We both expected the too sweet taste to hit our tastebuds. To our delight, it was simple and pure and perfect.

In America, we think that more is better. It’s not. It’s quality that counts, in everything. The better the quality, the less you need because you can’t replace quality with quantity–it ruins it.
